Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1, the following observations occur:

  • Operations for Logs (formerly Aria Operations for Logs) menus are missing from **Fleet Management > Passwords**.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration for Log Management does not appear under **Fleet Management > Identity and Access > VCF SSO Overview**.
  • Users are unable to login into the Operations for Logs UI as password for admin user is unavailable.

Environment

VCF Log management 9.1

Cause

In VCF 9.1, Log Management is fully integrated into VCF management services. This architectural shift eliminates the need for a separate user interface or standalone password/SSO management sections for logs. All lifecycle functions, including deployment, patching, and security management, are now standardized within VCF Operations workflows.

Resolution

Standalone menus for Log Management passwords and SSO configuration remain removed as this is expected behavior in VCF 9.1.

Lifecycle tasks such as password updates for management components are now performed through the centralized VCF management services workflows rather than individual component tabs.

For emergency scenarios where VCF Operations is inaccessible, use the "break-glass" UI to access the standalone interface using the How to log into the Log Management UI in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1 KB article.
