• Running lspci -v | grep -i ethernet fails to show any network controllers on the PCIe bus.
• The HPE iLO Integrated Management Log (IML) contains critical alerts for an "Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception" (MCE) associated with a processor (e.g., Processor 1).

Cause

Physical hardware failure (MCE on Processor 1) blocks PCIe initialization.

Resolution

• Access the HPE iLO web interface and navigate to Logs > Integrated Management Log.
• Identify the specific component reporting the "Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception."
• Engage the hardware vendor (HPE) to perform physical diagnostics on the identified processor and system board.
