Issue/Introduction

  • While copying a vApp template from one catalog to another, the copy operation fails and the template shows as “unresolved” state in the destination catalog.


  • Duplicate virtual machines are created in both the source and destination catalogs. The VMs are created with the same name within the VMware Cloud Director interface, but duplicate VMs are not visible within vCenter Server..

Environment

VMware Cloud director 10.6.x

Cause

This issue is caused by duplicate VM moref entries in the VMware Cloud Director database for the source template due to a known code defect.

Resolution

Broadcom is aware of this issue and a fix is planned for an upcoming release of VMware Cloud Director. Please subscribe to this KB by following the steps in the article: Subscribe an article for future updates on the resolution.

Database modifications are required to remove duplicate VM entries to recover the template from Cloud Director.
