RA Oracle Retail Agent Fails to Start with ORA-01017: invalid username/password After Upgrading to v24.x

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading the Automic Rapid Automation (RA) Framework / Core Agent from version 21.0.x to 24.x (e.g., 24.2.0 or 24.3.0), the RA Oracle Retail Agent fails to start.

The Agent logs report a database session failure, and the trace files show the following specific error stack despite confirmation that the database credentials configured in the Connection object are 100% correct:

U02000106 Reading content of connection object 'CONN.XYZ'.
U02000107 Connection object 'CONN.XYZ' with time stamp '17793567612312' was successfully transferred to the Agent. Error connecting to database U02013310 Failed to load RA Agent. U00045014 Exception 'java.sql.SQLException: "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied at oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CTTIoer11.processError():715 U02000002 Agent 'RA_ORACLE_RETAIL' version '24.3.0+build.1731955903973' ended abnormally.

Workaround:

- Until a fix version is available, downgrade the RA Core to version 21.x

- Or set a password with no multibyte characters temporarily until a fixed version is available.

 

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
