Issue/Introduction

When exporting the Hierarchy Tree to PDF, double-byte characters or extended character sets are not properly exported.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. In MUX > Projects > Create a project with double-byte characters on the name: ČĆŠĐŽčćšđž
  2. In Hierarchies > Create an investment type hierarchy
  3. Import the project above.
  4. Look at the Hierarchy Tree view
  5. Actions > Export to PDF
  6. Look at the PDF output

Expected Results: Extended character sets are exported as displayed in Clarity

Actual Results: Data is not properly exported: Characters are partially displayed or replaced by spaces

Workaround: Export the Timeline view to PDF instead

Note: This affects Slovak, Slovenian, Czech, Croatian, Chinese, Japanese languages between others.

Environment

Any supported Clarity release

Cause

This is a current limitation in Clarity (Clarity 16.4.2 at the time of writing this)

Resolution

This is a current limitation

Timeline and Hierarchy Tree use different 3rd party libraries.

The hierarchy tree library doesn't include the double byte character set.

Currently, no work is being done on this, but we will enhance the hierarchy area in the future and this will be considered at the time.
