vpxd service crashing just after being started causing inventory panels on vSphere Web client to be empty

Issue/Introduction

vpxd crashes generating /var/core/core.vpxd-worker.#### file

Log entries are not indicating heap memory limit reached or errors that could indicate the reasons for the crash.

Environment

vCenter Server Appliance 8.0.x

Cause

Threads executed on vpxd service process went above it's default limit.

Resolution

This issue must be investigated by Broadcom support to research the contents of the core dump file and define the next steps.

Collect a support bundle in failing state making sure the newest vpxd core dump is recorded to be used on the investigation.
