Issue/Introduction

Problem:

You're attempting to run the SARINIT job and it ends with RC=16 and issues a "SARINI03 Invalid value" error message against the 'NAME=' parameter setting.

Resolution:

The 'NAME=' parameter specifies the high-level name of the CA VIEW database that will be updated by the execution of the SARINIT job.

If you received this "SARINI03 Invalid value" error specifically against the 'NAME=' setting then chances are that the value you have coded in the NAME field exceeds the maximum number of characters that can be specified in this field.

The 'NAME=' parameter used in the SARINIT job is limited to a MAXIMUM of 17 characters.
