Issue/Introduction

Threshold events for VNA Velocloud tunnel items are configured and active, but they are not displaying within the DX NetOps Portal GUI event table or the threshold monitoring configuration dashboard.

  • Standard SNMP-polled data threshold events function normally.
  • Performance data for the tunnels is visible in GUI widgets.
  • Attempts to retrieve tunnel item data via the OData API yield no results.
  • Backend analysis confirms that the threshold engine is healthy and actively generating events (visible in EMService.log and the database), but they remain in the unresolved_event_items table.

Environment

  • Product: DX NetOps Classic / Performance Management
  • Versions: 25.4.3 through 25.4.8
  • Component: Virtual Network Assurance (VNA) Velocloud Plugin

Cause

This issue is caused by a software regression (Defect DE188958).

The Data Collector (DC) connects to the Data Aggregator (DA) before the SyncItemManager has finished initializing. During the process of sending the type catalog to the DC in XML format, the SyncItem metadata property is incorrectly removed from the DA's memory for specific SDN item types (Tunnels, SLAPATH, etc.). Because this property is missing, the Event Manager cannot resolve the items, and the events never reach the Portal GUI.

Resolution

Permanent Fix:

This issue will be officially resolved in DX NetOps 25.4.9. It is recommended to upgrade to this version or later.
