Issue/Introduction

In the Automic Web Interface (AWI), when a user attempts to select multiple objects (e.g., in the ExplorerProcess Assembly, or Process Monitoring views) by holding the CTRL key and clicking on individual items, the interface occasionally resets, and all currently selected objects become deselected.

This behavior is intermittent but prevents users from performing bulk actions on a specific set of non-contiguous objects.

Environment

  • Product: Automic Workload Automation
  • Component: Automic Web Interface (AWI)
  • Version: 24.4.1 and earlier 24.x versions

Cause

This is a possible defect in the AWI grid component's selection handling logic. Defect ID: DE181892

Resolution

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in a future version:

  • Automation.Engine TBA - TBA

Users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest available service pack to resolve this and other selection-related stability issues.

Workaround

  1. Shift + Click: Use the Shift key to select a range of contiguous objects, which is not affected by this specific defect.
  2. Batch Actions: Perform actions (e.g., Move, Delete, Execute) on smaller groups of objects to minimize the chance of a selection reset.
  3. Alternative Selection: Click and drag a selection box (lasso) over the desired objects if they are positioned closely together.
