When a service broker is upgraded. If there are missing steps in the upgrade process the customer can run into the following error message:
Service broker error: this service instance is outdated
The errand to register the service broker deploys the broker during upgrade.
If the errand is not selected, it can cause error messages like the one described on this article. This is a symptom that the broker hasn't completely consumed the upgrade, leading to mismatches between broker and service instances.
Make sure to select the errand to register the service broker when applying changes to the tile. The specific name of the errand varies from tile to tile but it is always related to registering the service broker.
In the example below you can see the errand present in VMware Tanzu for MySQL on Tanzu Platform:
Make sure the errand is selected and Apply Changes to the tile again. This should complete the deploy of the service broker and resolve the mismatch issue.
