VCF Deployment Fails at NSX Transport Node Configuration with Network Isolation Error

Issue/Introduction

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) installation fails at step 45 of 52 during the "Deploy and Configure NSX" process. The UI reports the following error message:

Error in configuring transport node collections Reference Token: <TOKEN_ID>

Environment

VCF 9.1

Cause

The management and vMotion VMkernel (vmk) interfaces on the ESXi hosts are not isolated in dedicated port groups. This lack of network isolation causes the NSX transport node profile application and subsequent network validation pre-checks to fail.

Resolution

Ensure the configuration of the hosts are not modified after the validation is completed within the VCF Installer prior to start the deployment.
