Issue/Introduction

In the NSX Policy UI, the "Edge Bridges" count under a specific segment displays as 0 after following the scenario described below.

  1. Create a segment under Networking > Segments in NSX-T 2.5.1.
  2. Observe that a logical switch with the same name is also visible under Advanced Networking & Security > Networking > Switching.
  3. Attach an Edge Bridge Profile to the logical switch under Advanced Networking & Security > Networking > Switching.
  4. Upgrade NSX-T from 2.5.1 to 3.1.1.
  5. The segment is visible in the NSX Policy UI, but the "Edge Bridges" count shows as 0.
  6. Upgrade from 3.1.1 to 4.0.0.1 and run the promotion process. However, the "Edge Bridges" count still remains at 0.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

It is expected behavior.

Resolution

Please open a case with Broadcom Support as the customer needs to remove the existing BridgeEndpoint and associated LogicalPort from existing LogicalSwitch, and then associate the Policy's BridgeProfile with the Segment via a set of APIs.
