Issue/Introduction

  • While deploying VCF Operations for Networks 9.1, the job fails on the Install components using SDDC lifecycle services sub-task with the following error: Unable to register components with VCF Operations.
  • Checking the Management Tasks tab shows the request failure with error code: LCMVRNICONFIG90044 : Error occurred while fetching Auth Token from VCF Ops Networks. This could be either due to no proper response or no connection established to VMware Aria Operations for Networks
  • The following error appears in the /storage/vcops/log/component-manager-plugin-UUID.log :

java.io.IOException: Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required"

Resolution

  2. Go to Operate tab on the top -> Administration -> Control Panel -> Management Task -> pick the latest "configure component" request for NI and perform a retry

Additional Information

If Operations for Networks is deployed successfully, but the Flows page in Operations shows as not configured, and the checkbox in the VCF Adapter settings to enable Operations for Networks is unavailable, perform the following steps:

  1. Clean the deployment using  Scripted components cleanup from VCF Operations 9.1.
  2. Redeploy with proxy settings disabled from the start.
