Can't edit user role in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• When changing an LDAP user from Inherit roles from groups to a specific role selection, the Save button remains gray and the changes cannot be committed.
• Attempting to disable the user results in an error similar to the following:
  
  [ #######-####-####-####-############ ] validation error on field 'email': The email address may contain invalid characters or be missing an @
  
  
• The email address has whitespace before or after the address in the source directory.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1.x

Cause

Whitespace in the email address field is invalid and introduces multiple issues when managing LDAP users in VMware Cloud Director.

Resolution

Remove all whitespace from the email field in the source directory and retry once the changes have been synchronized with VMware Cloud Director.
