Issue/Introduction

In Automic Release Automation (ARA) version 24, users encounter a complete UI crash (white screen) when attempting to upgrade a custom type.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Navigate to the Custom Type management area.
  2. Create a new version of a custom type.
  3. Activate the new custom type version.
  4. Click on the Type Upgrade button to initiate the migration process.

Actual Result: The browser displays a white screen immediately after clicking the button, and the upgrade wizard fails to load.

Environment

CDA: V 24.4.4hf1

Cause

This is a confirmed product defect in the Automic Web Interface (AWI) components for version 24.4. The UI fails to handle the transition to the upgrade wizard for specific custom type configuration

Resolution

There is no functional UI workaround for this issue in affected versions. Customers must apply the specified Hotfix (HF) to restore functionality.

This issue is resolved in Automation Engine (AE) V 24.4.4 HF2.

Additional Information

If you continue to experience a white screen after applying the hotfix:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies.
  2. Test the behavior in an Incognito/Private browser window.
  3. Verify that the AWI version matches the AE 24.4.4 HF2 requirement.
