EC2 Savings figure differs from historical figures in Archived Reporting

Issue/Introduction
Under the Savings report within AWS, you will find that the EC2 Savings figure doesn't align with previous historical values available in Archived reporting.
Resolution
This difference is due to an update that occurred in March 2026 for the EC2 Savings figure and how it's calculated currently. Prior to March 2026 the measure didn't take into account the Upfront portion of Reservations (RIs) or Savings Plans (SPs) whereas following the update it now does.
This brings the measure into line with how the EC2 Savings from Savings Plans, and EC2 Savings from Reservations functioned pre and post March 2026. In that they did take into account upfront commitments from All Upfront, and Partial Upfront RI/SP.
This means now that the measures are aligned, and the sum of EC2 Savings from Savings Plans, and EC2 Savings from Reservations will now equal the EC2 Savings figure.
