vSphere HA Configuration Fails Due to Deprecated VMware Repository URLs in vLCM

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to enable or reconfigure vSphere High Availability (HA) on a cluster, the operation fails with the following errors:

• Cannot complete the configuration of the vSphere HA agent on the host.
• Applying HA VIBs on the cluster encountered a failure

Environment

• vCenter Server 7.x
• vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the cluster is configured to use deprecated legacy VMware repository URLs (e.g., hostupdate.vmware.com) within vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM). Following the transition to Broadcom, these legacy endpoints are no longer accessible or supported for downloading the FDM VIBs required for vSphere HA. 

Resolution

Update the repository settings to point to current Broadcom endpoints and force a fresh HA configuration.
