Issue/Introduction

The Identity Management environment remains in a stopped or unresponsive state. This behavior is observed immediately after performing migration from previous version. The system fails to initialize, preventing user access to the Identity Suite components.

Im server.log log inspection showed issues with connecting to LDAP directory.

Environment

  • Product: CA Identity Suite (Identity Management)
  • Version: v15

Cause

Network connectivity between the Identity Management node and the LDAP directory is restricted. This environmental issue prevents the IM application server from establishing required connections during the startup sequence.

Resolution

Verify and restore network connectivity between the Identity Management node and the LDAP directory by performing the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Identity Management node as the igx user.
  2. Execute the port check utility to identify unreachable services:
    igactl check ports
  3. Review the output to confirm if the LDAP directory ports are reachable.
  4. Update firewall configurations or network routing rules to allow traffic on the identified blocked ports.
  5. Once connectivity is confirmed, restart the services:
    igactl restart xpress

Additional Information

If the environment still fails to start after verifying port connectivity, review the Identity Management logs for further errors.
