Issue/Introduction

Archived reports in OM View appear to be missing or deleted after report definitions were removed from OM Deliver.

Users are unable to see historical data when using MODE EXP, even though the reports should still be within their retention period.

Reports can be viewed using MODE ALL.

SARBCH job using /LIST ID=report id shows reports are still present in database.

Environment

OM View 14.0

OM Deliver 14.0

z/OS

Cause

Reports collected via OM Deliver are indexed in the OM View database with a pointer to their Deliver definitions.

If a report definition is deleted in OM Deliver, OM View can no longer resolve the metadata required to display those reports using MODE EXP.

The data is not physically deleted from the database, but it becomes invisible to the Express-specific viewing mode.

Resolution

To restore visibility, the report definitions must be reinstated in OM Deliver. Follow these steps to verify the data presence and resolve the issue:

  1. Verify Report Existence
  • Enter OM View and type MODE ALL on the command line.
  • Search for the affected Report IDs.
  • If the reports appear in MODE ALL but not in MODE EXP, the data has not been deleted, and the issue is restricted to the Deliver definition.
  • Report existence can also be validated by running SARBCH job using /LIST ID=report id.
  1. Reinstate Definitions
  • Re-add the missing Report ID definitions in OM Deliver via Deliver online panels or Batch Utility RMOUTIL program.
  1. Validation
  • After saving the definitions in OM Deliver, return to OM View.
  • Ensure you are in MODE EXP.
  • Check that reports are visible

Additional Information

Decommissioning a report in OM Deliver (to stop future collection) without losing historical visibility in OM View should be done by changing the definition status or SYSOUT attributes rather than deleting the definition entirely.
