New deployment of Aria Operations for Logs shows expired self-signed certificate

Issue/Introduction

• After a new deployment or upgrade of VMware Aria Operations for Logs (version 8.18.x or earlier), the web UI displays a red banner stating a certificate has expired.
  
  
• SSL certificate details show an expiration date of April 13 or 14, 2026.
  
  
• Integration with VMware Aria Operations fails due to a 'certificate_expired' fatal alert or 'ADAPTER_INSTANCE' trusted certificate error.

Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.x

Cause

This issue has been corrected in 8.18.7

Resolution

Option 1: Upgrade to Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.7

Option 2: Regenerate Self-Signed Certificate via Web UI

1. Navigate to Administration > SSL.
   
   
2. Click the RESET TO DEFAULTS... button at the bottom of the page.
   
   
3. Confirm the reset when prompted. The web service will briefly restart.
   
   
4. Log back in and verify the new Validity period under the SSL settings.
