Issue/Introduction

This article provides the procedural steps required to change the IP addresses (re-IP) for VMware Live Recovery and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) virtual appliances.

Environment

  • VMware Live Recovery
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)

Cause

The IP addresses of the appliances must be modified to accommodate planned network infrastructure changes, such as migrating the Site Recovery virtual machines to a different subnet.

Resolution

To safely change the IP address of your Site Recovery appliances, follow the steps below.

Important Note: This process is identical for both appliances. You must perform these steps on both the Protected Site appliance and the Recovery Site appliance to ensure proper communication is maintained.

  1. Log in to the VMware Live Recovery Appliance Management Interface (VAMI) as the admin user.

  2. Click the Networking tab.

  3. To configure your network settings, click Edit. Configure the DNS settings and the new IP address in the Hostname and DNS pane.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Click the Certificate tab.

  6. Click Change, and verify the IP has successfully changed to the new IP.

    • If the IP has not changed, manually change it to the new IP.
  7. Click the Summary tab.

  8. Click Reconfigure to finalize the changes.
