Issue/Introduction

This article provides the procedural steps required to change the IP addresses for VMware Live Recovery and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) virtual appliances.

Environment

  • VMware Live Recovery
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) 8.x, 9.x

Cause

The IP addresses of the appliances must be modified to accommodate planned network infrastructure changes, such as migrating the Site Recovery virtual machines to a different subnet.

Resolution

Follow these steps to change the appliance IP address.

Perform these steps on both the Protected Site and Recovery Site appliances to maintain site pairing.

1. Take a VM-level snapshot of the appliances before proceeding.

2. Log in to the Appliance Management Interface (VAMI) as the admin user at https://<appliance-ip>:5480.

3. Navigate to Networking.

4. Click Edit to update DNS settings, Hostname, or the IPv4 address.

5. Click Save.

6. Select the Certificate tab.

7. Click Change and verify the new IP address is reflected in the certificate details. If it is not updated, manually enter the new IP.

8. Select the Summary tab.

9. Click Reconfigure to register the appliance with the new network settings in vCenter Server.

10. Verify site pairing status in the Site Recovery vSphere Client plugin.
