Issue/Introduction

When running the VCF Operations pre-upgrade checks for a workload domain in the Build > Lifecycle > VCF Instances > <domain_name> > Updates page, an error is seen in the Report

  • Cluster Host Data Check error
  • Description: Validates that there is no mismatch between the hosts in the cluster and the SDDC manager inventory
  • Health Status: ERROR
  • Error Description: The following hosts were found in SDDC Manager inventory but not in vCenter: [<esx_hostname>]
  • Impact: High: Do not perform upgrade without addressing this issue
  • Remediation: Sync the SDDC Manager Inventory with the accurate state of the cluster

Environment

VCF Operations 9.1

Cause

The inventory in SDDC Manager is out of sync with vCenter.

Resolution

  1. Log in to VCF Operations and navigate to Operate > Inventory > VCF Instances > <domain_name>

  2. Click Actions and select Sync Inventory

  3. Wait for the task to complete, then run the precheck again

    Note: To check the status of the task, navigate to Build > Tasks > VCF Instances > <domain_name>
