Recovery Plan Remains Stuck in Test Failover State Requiring Cleanup

Issue/Introduction

VMware Live Cyber Recovery environments utilizing recovery plans may observe a plan remaining in an active test state for an extended duration (e.g., months). The system indicates that a test failover was executed, but the operation does not complete, and the recovery plan cannot be used for new operations.

Environment

VMware Live Cyber Recovery Version : 9.0.0.11

Cause

The previous test-failover execution was not cleaned up. This leaves virtual machines running in the Recovery SDDC and prevents the plan from finalizing the test failover workflow.

Resolution

 

• Log in to the management interface.

• Navigate to the affected recovery plan.

• Initiate the Cleanup operation for the recovery plan.

• Allow the cleanup task to power off and remove the test VMs from the Recovery SDDC.

• Verify the recovery plan returns to a ready state.
