Do you need ethernet cables connected to the Dell ME4 series expansion enclosures?

Issue/Introduction

In a few of the Security Analytic storage configurations, you can connect an expansion enclosure (SA-STXG8-2X144) to the main storage array.  There are ethernet port on the back of these expansion enclosures that will accept an ethernet cable.  Should you hook up ethernet cables to these ports?

Resolution

While the Management Ethernet ports on the SA-STAG8-2U144 and SA-STAG8-5U840 for both Controller A and Controller B should be connected to the Security Analytics management network switch, this is not the case for SA-STXG8-2X144 expansion enclosures. Make sure to leave the SA-STXG8-2X144’s Management Ethernet ports for both
Controller A and Controller B unconnected.
