Error: "LCMVIDM74076" during "Patch Postgres Cluster" due to unassigned delegateIP

Issue/Introduction

During the application of the CSP-102547 patch for VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7 via VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.0, the "Patch Postgres Cluster" operation fails.

The following error is observed in the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle user interface: LCMVIDM74076

Environment

Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.0 Patch 5

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7 build 22439689 (without CSP-102092)

Cause

This issue occurs when the delegateIP is not assigned to any node within the VMware Identity Manager cluster.

The exact cause of the unassigned delegateIP state is not definitively identified. It may be related to previous out-of-order patching sequences within the environment, such as installing VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle patch 5 without first installing the required VMware Identity Manager patch (CSP-102092).

Resolution

To resolve the issue and allow the patching operation to complete, perform the following steps:

1. Log in to the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle appliance UI.

2. Perform a Remediate Cluster operation for the VMware Identity Manager environment to resolve the delegateIP unassigned state.

3. Once the remediation is complete, retry the Patch Postgres Cluster operation.
