Issue/Introduction

In the Automic Web Interface (AWI) Script Editor, the parameter info tooltip does not appear for specific JCL commands after upgrading.

  • Actual Behavior: Tooltips do not show at all for commands such as :PREP_PROCESSPREP_PROCESS_REPORTPREP_PROCESS_AGENTGROUPPREP_PROCESS_FILEMOVE_OBJECT, and MODIFY_OBJECT.
  • Expected Behavior: A tooltip should appear showing parameter information when typing these commands.
  • Note: The issue is inconsistent as some commands, such as :SET, still display tooltips correctly.

  • Affected Versions: Automic Web Interface 24.4.4, 26.0.0
  • Working Versions: Automic Web Interface 24.4.1, 24.4.3

Cause

This issue is caused by a software defect in the Automic Web Interface script editor component, tracked as DE196319.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is currently under investigation and being validated by Engineering.

Updates will be provided in future Service Packs or Hotfixes for the following branches:

  • Automic Web Interface 24.4.5 - TBA

Workaround: There is no functional workaround to restore the tooltip display in the affected versions. Users are advised to refer to the product documentation for command parameter syntax until a fix is applied.
