HCX Service Mesh APR disablement fails with "another workflow is in progress"

Issue/Introduction

• Disabling Application Path Redundancy (APR) on a VMware HCX Service Mesh fails. The Service Mesh configuration task fails in the HCX UI with the following message: "another workflow is in progress".
• The following error is observed in the HCX Manager APP.LOG found in </common/logs/admin/app.log>: 

ApplianceLifecycleJob Failed. Reason: Interconnect Service Workflow InterconnectRedeploy failed. Error: Redeploy of Interconnect Appliance failed. Validation failed for redeploying appliance <REDACTED_HOSTNAMES>-ServiceMesh-IX-I1: [{"code":"E_CONFLICT","message":"Another workflow is in progress for <REDACTED>"}]

Environment

VMware HCX 

Cause

• The HCX Manager is experiencing network connectivity issues with the deployment cluster.

• Network connectivity disruptions between the HCX Manager and the deployment cluster prevent the initial workflow from completing, leaving the internal state indicating that a workflow is still actively running.

   

   

Resolution

 

1. Verify that all ESXi hosts within the deployment cluster are stable and online.

2. Validate reliable network connectivity between the HCX Manager and the ESXi hosts in the deployment cluster.

3. Resolve any underlying host or network availability issues disrupting communication.

4. Re-initiate the Service Mesh configuration task to disable Application Path Redundancy (APR).
