Issue/Introduction

  • When performing an upgrade pre-check, the following warning is encountered:

    Pre-Check Warning: VMware Cloud Foundation Operations version validation
    Resource Name: <HOSTNAMES>
    Description: Validates if VMware Cloud Foundation Operations is upgraded to version 9.0 or higher to enable license entitlement.
    Health Status: WARNING
    Error Description: VMware Cloud Foundation Operations is not at desired version
    Impact: Medium: May perform upgrade without addressing this issue.

Environment

  • 9.x

Cause

The VMware Aria Operations client plugin in the Management vCenter Server is either in a failed state or has not been successfully updated to version 9.0 to match the VMware Cloud Foundation Operations instance.

Resolution

 

  1. Log in to the Management vCenter Server.

  2. Navigate to the Administration tab, select Solutions, and click Client Plugins.

  3. Locate the VMware Aria Operations plugin.

  4. Verify if the plugin is in a failed state or if its version is not updated to 9.0.

  5. If the plugin requires an update or repair, log in to the VMware Cloud Foundation Operations user interface.

  6. Navigate to Administration, select Integrations, and click Accounts.

  7. Locate the account associated with the VMware Cloud Foundation instance.

  8. Edit the account configuration.

  9. Click on MANAGE INTEGRATION.

  10. Enable the integration toggle switch.

  11. Save the changes to push the updated plugin to the Management vCenter Server.
