Kubernetes package (TKR) uploads to the vCenter Content Library fail consistently

Issue/Introduction

1.The transfer progress stalls at 1% and eventually returns an HTTP 404 error

2.Logs indicate the transfer session is released after the internal session timeout.

failing update session <session id> with error message Unable to update files in the library item. The source or destination may be slow or not responding.

 

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0

Resolution

1. Log in to vCenter using a different browser(chrome/firefox), private or incognito window is preferred.

2. Log in to the vSphere client using the vCenter FQDN instead of the IP address

3. Log in to vCenter with [email protected] user 

4. If the issue persists, restart the Content Library and vsphere-ui service directly to clean hung task using below command:

 

service-control --restart vsphere-ui

service-control --restart vmware-content-library
