Issue/Introduction

  • Error when trying to assign a primary license to vCenter:

"The credentials you use for the selected vCenter system must have the Global.Licenses privilege assigned and must be a member of the LicenseService.Administrators Single Sign-On group. You can use the default or the action credentials. If you use the default credentials, make sure no action credentials are configured."

  • Validated Global.License privilege is assigned and also a member of LicenseService.Administraor SSO group.

  • Ops vCenter Integration collector is not collecting.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

To connect to vCenter there must be a healthy collector and valid credentials.

Resolution

  • Navigate to OPs -> Administration -> Integrations -> Instance -> Domain -> vCenter

  • Edit the vCenter Integration and set to System Managed Credential (Check Activate)

  • Click Validate Connection to validate the connection with your vCenter instance.

  • Confirm Collecting is working for vCenter.

  • Proceed to Assign a Primary License to vCenter, Ops -> License Management, Licenses, Check vCenter -> Assign Primary License.
