Issue/Introduction

Question:

How can I add a sequential output file to a program in the TDF?

Environment:

CA Telon Application Generator

Answer:

To add a sequential output file to a batch program, you will need to update the Data Group of the program to which you wish to add the file definition.

Enter the command DGADD <filename>.SQ on the command line, where <filename> is the name of the file you want to add.

If the file you want to add has already been defined in the TDF's global Data Administration (option 2) section, the definition will be copied into your Data Group.

Additional Information:

If the file does not exist in Data Administration, DGADD will create a skeleton entry for you where you may update to add any necessary information. For further information on Data Administration, Data Group, and the DGADD command, please refer to "Create/Update Data Group" in section 6, starting on page 267 of the Design Facility Reference Guide . You will also find information in "Create A Data Group" in section 11, starting on page 366 of the Programming Concepts Guide.
