Issue/Introduction

When multiple versions of Java are installed on the host system, Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI) does not provide a mechanism or configuration option to specify which Java version the application should utilize. Currently, AAI requires its required Java version to be set as the system's default Java environment in order to function properly.

Environment

  • Product: Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI)

  • Version: 24.x

Cause

This behavior is due to a known product limitation. The current architecture of AAI does not include a configurable parameter or environment variable override to point the application to a specific, non-default Java installation path.

Internal request ID: DE174831

Resolution

This issue has been formally identified, and a product enhancement request has been accepted by Product Management to allow users to specify the Java version.

At this time, there is no confirmed release date or target version for when this enhancement will be included in the product.

Workaround: Until the enhancement is released, you must ensure that the specific version of Java required by AAI is configured as the default Java environment on the host operating system.
