Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

  • When viewing available updates in the vCenter Appliance Management Interface (VAMI), users may see internal string keys (e.g., `vami.manage.update.type.Bug Fix and Security`) in the Type column rather than standard labels (Bug Fix and Security).
  • The vCenter is 9.0GA version

Environment

VMware vCenter 9.0 GA

Cause

To display localized labels, the UI requires specific values in the payload_type field, which was not correct.

Resolution

This is a cosmetic issue with no impact on the functionality of the updates. The issue is resolved in vCenter 9.1. To fix the display, upgrade the vCenter Server to version 9.1 or later.
