VCF 9: Workload domain inventory tree not displayed in VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction
In VCF 9, after creating a new workload domain from VMware Cloud Foundation SDDC Manager successfully:
- The workload domain deployment task completes successfully
- The workload domain appears in VCF Operations → Inventory
- However, the workload domain cannot be expanded
- The “>” icon is missing
- The inventory tree (vCenter / Datacenter / Cluster / Hosts) is not displayed
That is,
- Workload domain name is visible in Inventory
- But no child inventory objects are shown
Environment
- VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF 9)
- Workload domain created from SDDC Manager
- VCF Operations is used for inventory viewing and management
Cause
In VCF 9, VCF Operations relies on workload domain vCenter integrations to collect and display inventory information.
Although the workload domain deployment task may complete successfully from the SDDC Manager workflow perspective, the inventory synchronization in VCF Operations may not complete properly.
As a result:
- The workload domain object is visible
- But the inventory tree is not populated in VCF Operations
Resolution
Reconnect the workload domain integration from VCF Operations.
- Open VCF Operations
- Navigate to:
Administration → Integrations→Accounts→VMware Cloud Foundation
- Open the corresponding VMware Cloud Foundation Adapter
- Locate the affected workload domain
- Click the three-dot menu (...) in front of the workload domain and select Edit
- In the vCenter tab, click VALIDATE CONNECTION. If the validation succeeds, click SAVE
- Verify the workload domain inventory tree is displayed correctly in Operations → Inventory

For VCF 9.0 environments, it is recommended to use VCF Operations as the primary interface for workload domain related operations whenever possible.
