Issue/Introduction

The CA 7 RESTAPI started task (STC) disappears from the system. No error messages or abend codes are found in the z/OS syslog or the task's output logs.

Resolution

When a Tomcat-based task runs under Unix System Services (USS), its primary control is tied to a Process ID (PID). If the PID is terminated directly within the OMVS environment (manually or via automation), the associated MVS started task will end immediately. Because the termination occurs at the USS level, z/OS may not generate standard job termination messages. So restarting the STC task is needed to restore the Swagger page and service availability.
