Issue/Introduction

A Virtual Machine reports a status of Not Protected within VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

The associated datastore is incorrectly flagged as Not Replicated, preventing the protection group from maintaining a healthy state.

Environment

VMware Live Site Recovery 9.x

Cause

The issue is typically caused by an out-of-sync state between the Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) and the storage array.

If manual configuration changes are performed on the storage layer (such as in RecoverPoint or NetApp ONTAP), the SRA may not automatically pick up these adjustments. This causes SRM to perceive the datastore as unprotected despite physical replication being active.

Resolution

To synchronize the replication state between the storage array and SRM, perform a manual rescan and discovery:

1.  Rescan Storage Replication Adapters:
    *   Log in to the vSphere Client.
    *   Navigate to Site Recovery > Open Site Recovery.
    *   Select the relevant Site Pair.
    *   Go to Configure > Array Based Replication > Storage Replication Adapters.
    *   Click Rescan Adapters on both sites to refresh the device inventory and replication metadata.

2.  Discover Devices for Array Pairs:
    *   Navigate to Array Based Replication > Array Pairs.
    *   Select the relevant array pair and click Discover Devices.

3.  Verification:
    *   Ensure the warning `"Datastore 'datastore_Group' is not replicated"` has cleared.
    *   Verify the datastore status now shows as Replicated.
    *   Check the Protection Group; the VM protection status should return to OK.
