VM:Backup for z/VM

Issue/Introduction

Unable to access VMBACKUP panel from my userid and received a VMBDCM1089E despite having a link and access to VMANAGER's 193 disk. I'm invoking the panel by issuing VMBACKUP from the command line interface.

Environment

z/VM

Cause

Check and see if you a have an older VMBACKUP MODULE accessed on a disk mode higher then the latest one accessed. For example an older Module is accessed in Mode C and the newer one is accessed in Mode D.

z/VM will default to the highest alphabetical order of the letter mode for the inputed command to select the intended file from the command line mode.

Resolution

Link VMANAGER 193 and access the disk in a higher letter mode than the one with older MODULE.
