Issue/Introduction

Using MCS, is it possible to create and run a custom checkpoint in the sqlserver probe. The purpose is to check if the ICMP probe is generating QOS and generate an alarm if it is not generating QOS data. We need to know if the current probe and sqlserver_mcs_template supports this configuration, or can it only be configured and implemented using IM/Admin Console without using MCS?

Environment

  • DX UIM 23.4 CU4

Cause

  • Inquiry on sqlserver MCS template functionality

Resolution

Custom checkpoints can be created through MCS. This is done by utilizing the Custom Check Point (Enhanced) template, which is a child template under SQL Server (Enhanced).
