CPU Allocation Missing from Virtual Machine Remaining Capacity Table in VMware Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

When viewing cluster metrics via Inventory Cluster > Capacity > Capacity Remaining, the "CPU Allocation" data is not visible in the "Virtual Machine Remaining" table.

 

Environment

VMware Aria Operations

Cause

The Allocation Model for CPU capacity is disabled within the active policy assigned to the impacted cluster.

Resolution

 

  1. Log in to the VMware Aria Operations user interface.

  2. Navigate to the Inventory and select the impacted cluster.

  3. In the top right corner, click Policy > View Policy to open the policy currently assigned to the cluster.

  4. Click the Edit (Pencil icon) located within the Capacity tile.

  5. Expand the Capacity Settings section.

  6. Click the Padlock icon next to Allocation Model to unlock the configuration.

  7. Select the required allocation metrics (CPU, Memory, and/or Disk Space) based on environment requirements and define the overcommit ratio.

  8. Click Save to apply the configuration.
