Admin User Account Repeatedly Locked Out by localhost in VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

The admin user account experiences daily lockouts in VCF Operations. Audit logs display repeated invalid credential requests originating from localhost.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.x

Cause

The HPE OneView Adapter is configured with an incorrect admin password, causing continuous local authentication failures that trigger the account lockout policy.

Resolution

 

1. Unlock the affected admin user account.

2. Navigate to the adapter configuration settings within VCF Operations.

3. Locate the HPE OneView Adapter instance.

4. Update the credentials with the correct, current admin password.

5. Save the adapter configuration and validate the connection.

6. Monitor the audit logs to verify that the invalid credential requests from localhost have stopped.
