Issue/Introduction

In VMkernel Observation(VOBs), the VMFS corruption alerts are generated only for certain specific types of metadata corruption.
Such as lock or heartbeat corruption, and other metadata corruption events are not reported.

Environment

VMware ESXi 8.0

Resolution

This issue is resolved in the VMware ESXi 8.0 Update 3i (Build 25205845).

With vCenter 8.0 Update 3i, all VMFS metadata corruption events are reported by using a generic VOB alert.
It helps user to take action for any VMFS metadata event.
The fix avoids duplicate alerts to prevent excessive warnings.
Detailed corruption information continues to be logged in the vmkernel.log for troubleshooting by the Broadcom VCF Support team.
