Issue/Introduction

In CA Identity Governance, users may encounter situations where the Master and Model configurations for a universe become de-synchronized or corrupted, preventing the export of changes or causing discrepancies in certification campaign data.

Environment

  • CA Identity Governance 14.x
  • CA Identity Governance 15.x

Cause

Configurations can diverge if exports are not completed, or if third-party scripts modify data outside of the standard workflow.

Resolution

To restore synchronization, the Master and Model configurations should be recreated from fresh endpoint data using the following steps:

Step 1: Back up Current Data

Before making structural changes, ensure you have a backup of the current universe configuration and the eurekify_sdb database.

Step 2: Rename Master and Model configurations

In the Identity Governance Portal, navigate to the Universe configuration page. Rename Master and Model configurations.

Step 3: trigger Import

Trigger a fresh import from the connected endpoint (e.g., Active Directory or CA Identity Manager).
This process will rebuild the Master and Model configurations (with the new names) using a fresh snapshot of the endpoint data.
