Issue/Introduction

An error occurs when using the root account credentials for the remote vCenter Server in the VLSR UI's “Log In Site” dialog box.

The following error is displayed:

  • Cannot retrieve vSphere Replication site issues.
  • Cannot retrieve vSphere Replication enhanced replication issues.

Environment

vSphere Replication 9.X

VMware Live Site Recovery 9.X

Cause

This issue occurs because the root user is not configured as a vCenter Server SSO user and therefore lacks the required permissions.

The Site Recovery UI operates as a vCenter Server extension. All authentication and authorization processes are handled solely by vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO).

 

Resolution

Use a vCenter SSO user account with the appropriate roles assigned, instead of the root account.
