Issue/Introduction

Following an upgrade to DX OI 25.1, users (those assigned to custom role) encounter the following issues:

  • The All Alarms view is missing or empty.
  • Alarm Filter options are grayed out and cannot be selected.
  • Users have confirmed they have the correct LDAP group memberships in the SAML response, but the UI does not reflect the permissions.

Environment

DX OI 25.1

Resolution

To restore visibility and filter functionality, you must recreate the affected role and re-map it to the LDAP group.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to the DX OI console as an Administrator.
  2. Navigate to Settings > User Administration.
  3. Locate the affected role (e.g., <custom role>) and document the following:
    • All enabled Permissions.
    • All associated Alarm Queues.
    • The exact LDAP Group name linked to the role.
  4. Create a New Role with a distinct name.
  5. Assign the documented Permissions and Alarm Queues to this new role.
  6. Link the new role to the same LDAP Group used by the old role.
  7. Deactivate the old role to prevent permission conflicts.
  8. Instruct the affected users to log out and log back in to establish a new session.

Verification

Once the users log back in, verify that:

  • The All Alarms view is visible.
  • The filter icon is active and allows for the selection of alarm attributes.

Note: Ensure that Alarm Queues are explicitly added to the new role, as missing queues will result in an empty alarm view even if permissions are correct.
