Issue/Introduction

Cost Plans that contain Child Detail rows do not show Budget data against the child rows, but only an Aggregated value of those at parent level.

STEPS TO RREPRODUCE:

  1. Go to Classic Administration > General settings > System Options > New User Experience
  2. Uncheck the "Disable child row creation for Cost Plan Details" option
  3. In MUX create a project and financially enable it.
  4. Financials tab > Cost Plans > Create a Cost Plan with Charge Code as Grouping Attribute for example
  5. Add the Budget per period metric to the view
  6. Add two rows and add some cost to each
  7. Submit it for Approval
  8. Financials tab > Budget Plans > Right click on the Budget and Approve it
  9. Go back to the Cost Plan and look at the plan, Budget data is populated for each row and the total
  10. Financials tab > Cost Plans > Create a Cost Plan with Charge Code as Grouping Attribute for example
  11. Add a single row to the plan
  12. Right click on the row and "Create Detail Row". Create a couple of detail rows
  13. Add some Cost to the Detail rows

Resolution

There are plans to redesign the Child Detail Row functionality.

In Clarity 16.4.3 we are planning to retire the current Child Detail Row concept and allow the creation of all rows at the same level with an additional "Description" attribute that can be filled on any row making each row unique.

This is currently in development and expected to be completed in Clarity 16.4.3
