Aria Operations Telegraf Agent Uninstallation Fails with UI Status Uninstall Failed

Issue/Introduction

In Aria Operations, uninstallation of the Telegraf agent fails without a specific error message. Following the failure, the status column in the Aria Operations UI persistently displays "uninstall failed".

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.6

Cause

The Guest OS uninstallation script fails to execute successfully, leaving the agent components on the endpoint and the Aria Operations UI in a stale, out-of-sync state requiring manual intervention.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the agent must be manually removed from the endpoint and the Aria Operations inventory:

1. Manually remove the Telegraf agent from the target endpoints following the instructions in Broadcom KB 384995.

2. Remove the stale agent object from the Aria Operations inventory following the instructions in Broadcom KB 390685.

3. Clear the persistent "uninstall failed" status message in the Telegraf agent menu following the instructions in Broadcom KB 413844.
