Issue/Introduction

When attempting to create or save a new jobstream in the Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI) Web UI, the "Create" tab or option is greyed out for users authenticated via Embedded Entitlements Manager (EEM).

Environment

  • Product: Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI)
  • Version: 24.4
  • Authentication: EEM (Embedded Entitlements Manager)

Cause

  1. Conflicting Business Area Policies: Having multiple active policies (e.g., one containing All Jobstreams/* and another with [All Resources]) can cause the UI to disable the creation option.
  2. Missing Authorizations: The user lacks the specific manageContents and addJobstream permissions in the EEM "Simple Jobstream add-delete" policy.

Resolution

Step 1: Simplify EEM Business Area Policies

  1. Log into the EEM UI.
  2. Navigate to the Policies tab.
  3. Check for multiple active Business Area policies assigned to the same user or group.
  4. Disable redundant policies so only one is active.
  5. In the active policy, under the Resources section, ensure only All Jobstreams/* is specified.

Step 2: Address Visibility (Defect DE184206)

Note that in version 24.4, jobstreams assigned solely to the default "All Jobstreams" area may be hidden from EEM users after creation.

  • Workaround: When creating a jobstream, assign it to a specific Business Area other than the default "All Jobstreams."

VERIFICATION

Have the user log out and log back into the AAI Web UI. The Add Jobstream button should now be blue/active.
