Issue/Introduction

We are getting the repetitive errors: ERROR 660298 --- [Trace Indexer] Manager.TransactionTracer : Throwable exception updating the index java.lang.RuntimeException: time '-1' is too early, must be >= 0 

 

Environment

• DX APM 10.8
• CA APPLICATION PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT 10.8

Cause

Traces database corruption.

Resolution

1. Stop the Introscope EM(s)
2. Backup the existing <EM-HOME>/traces folder and subfolders
3. Delete the entire content of <EM-HOME>/traces and subfolders
4. Delete all existing logs <EM-HOME>/logs
5. Start the EM(s)

If the problem persists, contact Broadcom Support and provide a copy of the Introscope EMs logs and copy of the Traces database folder(s)
