Issue/Introduction

When exporting a flow from CA Agile Requirements Designer (ARD) version 3.6.0.51 to Microsoft Visio:

  • Decision blocks and subflow blocks are incorrectly converted to generic "Multi-Output case blocks."
  • Subflow links are missing in the resulting Visio diagram.

Environment

  • CA Agile Requirements Designer 3.6.0.51
  • Microsoft Visio

Cause

This behavior was a product limitation in version 3.6.0.51. The export functionality was initially designed for simple exports and did not support maintaining specific shapes and links for complex components like subflows and multi-output blocks.

Resolution

The issue has been resolved in a cumulative patch release. To fix this behavior, upgrade to ARD version 3.6.0.57 or later.

  1. Log in to the Broadcom Support Portal.
  2. Navigate to the solution details for APAR 99112705ARD Cumulative Patch 3.6.0.57.
  3. Download and apply the patch build.
  4. Re-run the Visio export. Subflows and decision blocks will now retain their specific shapes and associated links.
