Issue/Introduction

File uploads from redirected drives to HTTP/HTTPS websites are failing even though domain exception is in place. This functionality reportedly worked with DLP 15.8.

Environment

16.X

Cause

In DLP versions after 15.8, the architecture for monitoring browser activities was redesigned to comply with modern OS vendor requirements.

Resolution

  • The recommended solution is to migrate to SDK-based browser monitoring. This approach serves as a modern, seamless alternative to traditional API hooking. By removing the dependency on driver-level intervention, the SDK method significantly reduces the risk of conflicts and ensures robust, long-term compatibility with evolving browser architectures and standards.

  • Note: SDK-based browser monitoring requires the following minimum DLP versions:

Google Chrome: DLP 16.0.1 (or later)
Microsoft Edge: DLP 25.1 (or later)
